About the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to support a growing accounting team during a critical period.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller and will play a key role in preparing financial statements, performing month‑end close activities, and ensuring accurate general ledger reporting. Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash FlowsCompile assigned sections of the monthly management financial reportEnsure all required month‑end activities are properly recorded in the general ledgerPrepare journal entries, including prepaids, accruals, and cash flow‑related itemsPerform balance sheet and account reconciliationsInvestigate and resolve unusual account movements through detailed variance analysisAssist with audit support, internal controls, and documentation requestsWork cross‑functionally to ensure accurate data posting and workflow completenessContinuously identify process improvements across reconciliations and reportingSupport the Accounting Manager during close cycles and special projects as neededRequired QualificationsBA or BS degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of general ledger accounting experience, including month‑end closeStrong understanding of GAAP principlesHands‑on experience with:Month‑end closeJournal entriesBalance sheet reconciliationsPrepaids, accruals, and cash flowAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, links)Experience with SAP, SAP S/4, and/or SAP Business Objects strongly preferredWork Environment & Team Structure9‑person accounting team7 team members report directly to the ControllerController and Accounting Manager will work closely with this roleFully onsite for the first 3 months to support training and close cyclesAfter onboarding: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 remote), with Wednesdays required onsiteJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Bridgeport, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
