Job Summary:\rThis position reports directly to the Manager of Technical Accounting. Key responsibilities of the role include preparing, analyzing, researching and adjusting financial statements as part of the month-end close process for management presentation. Creates relevant workpapers, schedules and reconciliations. Reviews and comprehends financial indicators and results of operations and variances from budget and historical results. Assists with researching technical accounting and financial reporting issues as well as ad hoc financial analysis and projects. Coordinates with local accounting teams regarding financial transactions and resolution of unusual balances or variances. Requires a Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting.\rCore Responsibilities and Essential Functions:\r1.\tPerforms general accounting functions/processes\ra.\tResponsible for executing assigned month end close process responsibilities of Wellstar Health Systems financial statements\rb.\tPrepares journal entries and maintains document analysis and support\rc.\tAssists with the application of GAAP to new transactions, where applicable\rd.\tMaintains appropriate procedure documentation and adheres to Wellstar policies and procedures\re.\tEnsure that all month-end close and compliance timelines are met\rf.\tPerforms balance sheet and income statement analyses and reconciliations\rg.\tIdentify process improvement initiatives for specific areas of responsibility\rh.\tAssists with preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and compliance reporting\ri.\tSupports annual audits\rj.\tCoordinates with local accounting and finance teams on financial transactions and resolution of unusual balances or varian\r2.\tSpecial projects, as assigned\ra.\tAssist with special projects as assigned\rb.\tAcquisitions, accounting, and reporting\rPerforms other duties as assigned\rComplies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.\rRequired Minimum Education:\rBachelor's Degree Accounting/Finance\rMaster's Degree Masters in Accounting/Masters in Business Administration\r\rRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):\rAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.\rAdditional License(s) and Certification(s):\rCPA - Cert Public Accountant Upon Hire Preferred and\rRequired Minimum Experience:\rMinimum 3 years experience in finance, accounting\rRequired\rRequired Minimum Skills:
