POSITION SUMMARY

We're seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Specialty Program Group during an exciting period of expansion and integration. This high-visibility role will work closely with senior leadership to evaluate accounting processes, resolve complex reconciliation issues, and drive process improvements as we integrate acquired entities into our accounting platform.

This position offers exposure to various accounting challenges, opportunities to lead meetings with stakeholders, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on how we standardize and optimize our financial operations. This is a hybrid position requiring three days in office in Brentwood, TN.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Evaluate and reconcile trial balances during system integrations and migrations

Perform month-end reconciliations for balance sheet accounts (Cash, AR, AP, and other assets/liabilities)

Monitor and resolve accounting process issues, maintaining detailed issue logs and ensuring timely resolution

Lead meetings and communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Identify process improvement opportunities and help develop standard operating procedures

Prepare manual journal entries and and open system entries as needed

Partner with Operations, IT, Treasury, and other departments to resolve accounting matters

Support special projects and optimization initiatives across the accounting function

Onboard team members and stakeholders on accounting processes and best practices

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

3+ years of corporate accounting experience with strong reconciliation skills

Solid understanding of assets and liabilities on the balance sheet

Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and general IF logic)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to present to and collaborate with senior leadership

Investigative mindset and passion for process improvement

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment

Preferred:

Insurance industry experience

Public company accounting experience

Internal or external audit experience

Experience with accounting system implementations or migrations
