WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Senior Accountant role supports U.S. Capital Markets Broker-Dealer Financial Control team on corporate accounting responsibilities for the Wealth Management Platform, month end close, financial reporting and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Main point of contact for WM Platform controllers and WM Performance Management teams to report material itemsResponsible for recording and settling intercompany transactions including chargebacks from other entitiesWork closely with the Transfer Pricing team and global finance counterparts to ensure accuracy and consistency for intercompany transactionsResponsible for reviewing and booking accruals for various expenses including asset management fees, FA commissions, revenue and expense reallocations, legal, audit and regulatory accruals ensuring accuracy with proper controls in placeResponsible for month end Audit reconciliations including Margin Interest, Commissions, Blotter, Asset Management Fees, BONY 12b1 and Envestnet FileSupport WM business units with the opening of Trading / Non-Trading transit hierarchyResponsible for working with various teams on compiling and subsequently amortizing multiple prepaid items including prepaid licenses and market dataWork with operations to process journal entries for clearing fees, brokerage charges and other applicable invoicesPrepare and maintain proper supporting documentation for all journal entries processedSupport WM Branch reporting such as month end sign off, B/S analysis, attestation break resolution and attendance to Attestation Council MeetingsSupport WM Performance Management team with ad-hoc requests, prepare for and lead monthly month end status callsQuarterly submission for Correspondent loansReview assigned balance sheet accounts for illogicals, booking reclass entries where neededPrepare month end reconciliations including substantiation of assigned balance sheet accounts for monthly sign offsAssist with updating procedures for all tasks and work on continuous process improvementsEnsure adherence to accounting requirements and firm policiesSOX 79.037 monthly reconciliationAudit supportPEGA Attestation and SOD preparationWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Bachelor’s degree in accounting4+ years general accounting experience with exposure to month end closeStrong analytical / problem solving skillsWell organized with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentAbility to develop and maintain relationships with teams across the firm, including operations, product control, technology, and head office teamsStrong excel skills and aptitude to learning new systemNice to Have
