Aston Carter is working with a great client of ours in the Overland Park area who is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to their team. The role is a newly created position as they are looking to expand their accounting and finance team. Please apply if interested in hearing more! Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial integrity of our organization by ensuring accurate and timely monthly closings, preparing financial reports, and maintaining compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards. Responsibilities + Ensure timely and accurate monthly closing of financial books, reviewing and documenting variances for management. + Make manual journal entries in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. + Review and post journal entries appropriately. + Reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts monthly, researching and resolving variances promptly. + Respond to email and phone inquiries from internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner. + Collaborate with Operations and Sales departments to ensure smooth month-end closings and regular preplanning. + Support internal and external audits as required. + Initiate automation of manual processes when appropriate, including special projects and system implementations. + Participate in team events to foster a cohesive team spirit. + Operate responsibly and comply with company policies at all times. Minimum Qualifications: + 5+ years of accounting experience required + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel + Strong understanding of accounting principles, general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end processes + CPA certification preferred + Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr. - 18 days of PTO- 6% 401k match- 10 paid holidays Workplace Type This is a hybrid position in Overland Park,KS.
