Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. This role offers a great opportunity to train with the current Senior Accountant who is retiring. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
ResponsibilitiesReconcile accounts payable and receivable, payroll, general ledger, and cash.Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.Provide technical support and advice.Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.Manage accounting assistants in AR, AP, and Payroll.Participate in financial standards setting and the forecast process.Provide input into the department’s goal setting process.Prepare financial statements and produce budgets according to schedule.Assist with tax audits and tax returns.Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.Plan, assign, and review accounting staff’s work.Process month-end and year-end close.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related degree required5-8+ years of accounting experience within the manufacturing industry requiredDemonstrated leadership experience.Strong knowledge of accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, and balance sheet management.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in Microsoft Office products.Previous experience with Epicor or comparable Enterprise Resource Program.Previous experience with Paylocity or comparable payroll system.Basic knowledge of business finance, business analysis, and cost accounting.Sense of urgency mindset with an assertive “let’s get it done” attitude.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with teams.Results-oriented, self-motivated, and has the ability to meet all deadlines.Customer-oriented with excellent negotiation skills.Strong account management skills.Work Environment
The work environment is in-office, working closely with the president and three other team members. The team includes a meticulous payroll specialist, a personable AP specialist who also supports inventory control, and a quiet AR specialist focused on their tasks. The role reports directly to the president.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
