Job Description
The Sr. Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the mission and goals of the organization by contributing to the effective operation of the Finance Department. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data through journal entries, general ledger account reconciliation, and analytical support. The Sr. Accountant will work collaboratively with department managers to provide insights that aid in strategic financial decisions.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations and rollforwards.Conduct detailed spreadsheet analyses to support financial reporting and departmental planning.Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports.Provide analytical support for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Collaborate with the Budget & Reimbursement team to ensure compliance with regulatory and reimbursement requirements.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the Finance Department.Support audits and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.Essential SkillsProficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports and statements.Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.Experience with full cycle accounting, including general ledger, month-end, and journal entries.Strong analytical skills and reconciliation experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with Accounting classes.3-6 years of relevant experience.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr.
