Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description

The Senior Accountant will compile, prepare, and analyze accounts receivable and bank reconciliations, working closely with the AR/Credit team to address any atypical reconciling items promptly. This role involves preparing and analyzing monthly item class reports, reserve reconciliation reports quarterly, and performing account reconciliations and analysis, accrual calculations, and related accounting documents. The Senior Accountant will also serve as a backup for commissions reconciliation when needed. The position requires preparing complex journal entries with minimal errors, ensuring compliance with accepted policies and procedures, meeting reporting deadlines, and leading process improvements in key reporting requirements within the department. Additionally, the role involves documenting policies, procedures, and workflows, contributing to special projects, and protecting operations by maintaining confidentiality of financial information.

ResponsibilitiesCompile, prepare, and analyze accounts receivable reconciliations.Collaborate with AR/Credit team to rectify reconciling items.Prepare and analyze bank reconciliations with the Accounting team.Compile and analyze monthly item class reports.Prepare reserve reconciliation reports on a quarterly basis.Perform account reconciliations, account analysis, and accrual calculations.Backup Accountant for commissions reconciliation when needed.Prepare complex journal entries with minimal errors.Maintain records in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.Ensure reporting deadlines are met.Initiate and lead process improvements within the department.Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned responsibilities.Contribute to department and organization special projects.Protect financial information confidentiality.Essential SkillsAt least 5 years of experience in general accounting.Proficiency in general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end processes.Strong skills in preparing journal entries, financial statements, and balance sheets.Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data manipulation.Experience in account and bank reconciliations within Excel.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with ERP systems such as JDE or SAP preferred.Degree in accounting or related field required.Experience in manufacturing industry is a plus.Experience working in a large accounting team of at least 8-10 people.Mix of public and private industry experience is ideal.Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid schedule with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote. You will be part of a general accounting team consisting of 12 people. The position is open due to the implementation of SAP, requiring someone to manage day-to-day duties while the permanent team works on the implementation. Performance is measured by the ability to close books in a 4-day cycle and reconcile accounts efficiently.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
