Job Title :Senior Systems Technician (A&P Mechanic)

Pay Rate: $37 - $40
PDS Tech is seeking a highly motivated Senior A&P Technician to support our client in Mesa.
Primary tasks will be associated with pneumatic tube and valve installation, hydraulic systems installation, hybrid rocket propulsion installation, landing gear, flight control actuators, cabin ECS, A/C systems troubleshooting and other dynamic and exciting spacecraft manufacturing operations. Maintain focus on timeliness and execution of tasks and deliverables every day. Support the company strategy by holding ourselves and one another accountable for getting the work done.
• Perform a variety of aircraft modifications and maintenance functions such as removal and installations of airframes, landing gear, engine components, electrical components, and control systems to assure conformance to procedures, performance and test specifications.
• Perform required periodic maintenance and necessary service of aircraft mechanical systems.
• Must demonstrate the ability to consistently perform assigned maintenance task within the quoted or standard
• Provide work directions for assigned technicians
• Act on behalf of Mechanical Team Lead (MTL) in his/her absence and assume the duties and responsibilities of MTL when assigned.
• Coordinate with the Inspection department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
• Properly complete work order signoffs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications. . 5. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment.
• Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.
• Operate and supervise use of special support equipment used in removal and installation of major components.
• Use the material tracking system to create parts demand and to charge labor to correct work orders and item numbers.
• Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.
• Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags.
• Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all areas of responsibility.
• Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems within each aircraft product line.
• Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.). 3. Working knowledge of the FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Provide input of technical and operational knowledge in the assessment and repair/maintenance recommendations in support of the program assigned
• Work on manufacturing assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
• Ensure quality and efficiency of installations, including troubleshooting and may provide guidance in troubleshooting processes and concepts
• Adhere to assembly instructions to ensure accurate completion of complex project assemblies
• Continuously practice safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness/prevention; adhere to regulatory protocols and rules
• Work collaboratively to achieve goals and/or complete assigned tasks
Required Skills and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED.
• US Citizen
• 6-8 years Aviation Maintenance experience to include 3 years of experience working on mid/large size aircraft required.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate is a Plus
• Hands-on experience in a precision yet manual manufacturing setting strongly preferred
• Knowledge of applying current manufacturing practices and willingness to learn cutting edge spacecraft manufacturing techniques and /or Airframe & Power plant (A&P) training
• Hands-on experience in a precision yet manual manufacturing setting strongly preferred
• Use of hand drills, power feed drills (PFD), Jiffy/E-Tech tools, Setti Tec
• Demonstrate willingness to adjust thinking and behavior
• Knowledge of providing quality repairs of malfunctioning systems
• Ability to collaborate on technical projects with fellow technicians, or interdepartmental functions to achieve goals or solve problems
• Ability to communicate in a manner that is timely, respectful, and open to other ideas
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools a plus
• Ability to get into the details, while maintaining a broader view
• Strong safety forward thinking, practice good housekeeping, tool control
Pay Details: $37.00 to $40.00 per hour
