As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
Design and Develop: Lead the design and development of robust, scalable, and high-performance applications primarily using Java for our backend services.Contribute Full-Stack: Leverage your front-end expertise in React (web) and React Native (mobile) to build intuitive and engaging user interfaces.Drive Modernization: Play a key role in our lift-and-shift modernization initiative, contributing to the migration of existing systems and the development of new cloud-native solutions.Ensure Excellence: Champion operational and engineering excellence, implementing best practices for code quality, testing, deployment, and monitoring.Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver impactful features.Mentor: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Problem Solve: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across our stack, ensuring high availability and performance of our applications.Bridge the Gap: Utilize your familiarity with .NET to assist with the transition and integration of legacy systems during our modernization effort.What You'll Bring
Experience: 5-7+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend systems.Java Expertise: Deep proficiency in Java development, including experience with modern frameworks and design patterns.Front-End Skills: Hands-on experience with React for web applications and/or React Native for mobile applications.Cloud-Native Mindset: Experience with deploying applications to Kubernetes and working with cloud-native databases that scale to enterprise needs.Modernization Acumen: Proven ability to contribute to large-scale modernization projects, including lift-and-shift initiatives.Familiarity with .NET: Some familiarity with .NET is highly desirable to facilitate our modernization efforts.Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of tackling complex technical challenges.Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Customer Focus: A passion for creating compelling and personalized user experiences.Continuous Improvement: A commitment to operational excellence, engineering best practices, and continuous learning.Why Join Us?

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
