About the Security Specialist Role

The Security Specialist works with the Security Administrator to analyze all recommendations resulting from Information Security reviews or Audits to determine the appropriateness of the recommendations and the overall risk to the Bank relating to those items. They also work hand in hand to ensure that workstations, servers, networking appliances and all banking systems meet security patch standards.

Key Responsibilities

Compiles and provides IT data and information to respond to audit and information security requests.Ensure that all appliances are in line with base line configuration and are up to date with security patches. Knowledge of Active directory and group policy.Ability to research and communicate effectively to security administrator or senior administrators on security enhancements and change control approval requests. Review and apply necessary software security patches.Implementation and configuration of Information Security monitoring systems.Work with the Network Administrator to proactively identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.Research and recommend new Information Security applications when necessary.Ensure that the organization's information sharing infrastructure meets established compliances and regulations.Ability to work independently in scenarios where there is limited supervision. Innovative and a passion for continual learning and development.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

Bachelors Degree in Cyber Security or related fieldCustomer service experience.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Well, organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work to time sensitive deadlines.Ability to work well independently and in groups.Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Programs; Excel and Word.

Preferred

A Master’s degree or higher.

Schedule

Full-time position: 

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm; flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed.

Travel: Occasional travel; valid driver’s license required.
