As an Assistant Vice President in the APAC Securities Services Legal team, you provide critical legal support to a business operating in over 100 markets. You will draft and negotiate key contracts, advise on product offerings, and help manage legal risks for institutional clients. Your work ensures the integrity and success of our Securities Services business, supporting central banks, sovereign wealth funds, and major asset managers. You will collaborate across regions and functions, contributing to a culture of excellence and innovation.

The APAC Securities Services Legal team is at the forefront of supporting new product launches and market expansions. You will engage in global initiatives, work closely with external counsel, and help develop legal templates and best practices. This role offers exposure to regulatory matters, dispute resolution, and the opportunity to influence legal strategy in a leading financial institution. Job responsibilities

Provide legal advice and support to the APAC Securities Services businessDraft and negotiate global custody, fund services, collateral management, and securities lending agreementsAdvise management and internal stakeholders on legal matters related to Securities Services productsLead or participate in regional and global legal initiatives, including product and market expansionConduct legal due diligence and develop contract templatesInstruct and collaborate with external counsel, managing legal costs effectivelyAssist with regulatory enquiries, investigations, and disputesIdentify and escalate relevant legal issues to stakeholders proactivelyManage and control legal risks constructivelyBuild rapport and collaborate with internal stakeholders across jurisdictionsCommunicate legal issues clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Qualified lawyer with 4+ years of legal experienceStrong drafting, negotiation, and legal analytical skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to prioritize and manage workflow in a multi-jurisdictional environmentCollaborative mindset and ability to build relationshipsProactive approach to issue identification and escalationAdaptability to apply legal skills in new contextsAbility to manage legal risks constructivelyFluent in written and spoken ChineseCompliance with relevant licensing requirements for the jurisdiction
