Summary
The Security Professional (SP) plays a critical, hands-on role in protecting people, assets, and operations while advancing a strong safety culture within a fast-paced distribution and logistics environment. Reporting to the Safety & Security Manager, this position serves as the onsite Safety and Security Subject Matter Expert, partnering closely with operations leaders to reduce risk, ensure compliance, and strengthen incident prevention.
This role integrates security expertise with safety leadership, offering security professionals the opportunity to expand their impact across workplace safety, risk mitigation, emergency response, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Security Professional is highly visible on the floor, actively participates in Daily Visual Management (DVM/VDM) meetings, and influences safe behaviors and operational discipline through collaboration rather than direct authority.
The position follows a Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm schedule, with the expectation of responding to critical incidents or emergencies outside standard hours when needed.
Safety Leadership & Culture
Participate in Daily Visual Management (DVM/VDM) meetings to monitor safety performance and program effectiveness
Lead weekly safety huddles, conduct routine floor walks, and proactively identify safety hazards
Drive continuous improvement in safety programs across warehouse and logistics operations
Chair the Health & Safety Committee and Branch Security Council
Security Operations & Incident Response
Serve as the onsite safety and security SME for distribution and logistics facilities
Conduct incident investigations (accidents, loss, theft, security events) and deliver root cause analysis and corrective actions
Act as primary liaison to contract security vendors, auditing performance and ensuring policy compliance
Support crisis management and emergency response efforts
Compliance & Risk Management
Conduct monthly safety and security audits
Ensure compliance with OSHA, TAPA FSR, NAID, and applicable ISO standards
Serve as the primary contact with local police, fire, and government agencies
Monitor vendor budgets, approve invoices, and ensure systems remain operational
Influence & Collaboration
Partner with warehouse, operations, and leadership teams to reinforce safety and security standards
Influence behavior and drive compliance without direct decision-making authority
Communicate safety performance through meetings, trainings, toolbox talks, town halls, and internal platforms
QualificationsRequired
3+ years of experience in safety, security, or risk management
Strong communication, follow-up, and documentation skills
Experience working independently in an operational or warehouse environment
Ability to respond to off-hours incidents when needed
Preferred
Background in logistics, distribution centers, or warehouse operations
Experience with safety certifications and regulatory compliance
Proven ability to lead safety initiatives and influence cross-functional teams
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
