Security Officer - Substation Patrol Driver

As a Security Officer - Substation Patrol Driver in Akron, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and service requests with clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements, giving you the mobility to support multiple areas of the site. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, equipment areas and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.Control access to utility facilities by monitoring gates, doors and/or designated entry points, verifying authorized entry and directing visitors according to site-specific procedures.Monitor alarms, cameras and/or building management systems when assigned, and report unusual activity per post orders.Perform routine patrol checks of critical infrastructure areas such as substations, control buildings, generation support areas and/or fenced yard locations, and report observed issues to site contacts.Document patrols, inspections, incidents, suspicious activity and/or maintenance concerns in written reports, daily activity logs and/or electronic reporting systems.Assist with traffic and/or vehicle flow at entry points, during deliveries and/or during outages and storm response activity as directed by site procedures.Coordinate with site representatives, contractors and/or emergency responders when needed, following chain of command and site communication protocols.Promote a professional, welcoming presence while helping to deter unauthorized access, theft and/or property damage through patrol visibility and timely reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.CPR certification is preferred.Customer service experience is preferred.Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
