As a Security Officer - Shelter Outreach Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and provide strong customer service and communication to residents, staff, and visitors. Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter doors to help to identify unauthorized activity, hazards, and policy concerns, and report findings per post orders.Monitor access points, help to verify identification and/or authorization as required, manage visitor sign-in and direction, and help to maintain orderly entry and exit flow.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using verbal de-escalation techniques when appropriate and promptly requesting additional assistance when needed.Complete timely, accurate documentation of patrols, incidents, and resident or visitor interactions, and communicate relevant updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.Minimum Requirements:
A New York State Security Guard License is required.A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required based on client requirements.Be 21 years of age or older.The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
