Security Officer - School Patrol

As a Security Officer - School Patrol in Denver, CO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will conduct routine patrols of buildings and grounds, support access control and badge checks, and help spot and report security-related concerns. You will remain highly visible, assist students, staff, and visitors with customer-focused communication, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific policies, access procedures, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence halls exteriors, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by location.Monitor for suspicious activity, unsecured doors, hazards, and policy violations, and take appropriate action to help to deter incidents while maintaining a professional presence.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, fire alarms, and facility issues, and request additional resources as needed.Control access at designated entrances by checking identification, directing visitors, and assisting with after-hours entry procedures when assigned.Observe and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and damaged property, and notify designated contacts for follow-up.Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports in a timely manner, including documenting actions taken and parties involved.Support crowd management and traffic flow during campus events, athletic activities, and peak arrival and departure times as directed.Operate assigned communication equipment and systems, including radios and emergency phones, and maintain clear, professional communication with site personnel and/or local responders.Assist with lost and found items, escorts upon request when available, and general information requests to support a positive campus experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.Customer service experience is preferred.A guard card and/or license is preferred.CPR certification is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
