Security Officer - Retail Patrol Driver

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Driver in Joliet, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents while delivering standout customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, giving you variety as you move throughout the property, respond to calls for assistance, and document observations. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail sales floors, common areas, receiving areas, and exterior perimeters; working environments and conditions may vary by location.Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter theft, disorderly conduct, and other unwanted activity; report suspicious behavior per site-specific procedures.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as directed.Complete required documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate security-related information to on-site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.Customer service experience is preferred.A guard card or license is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
