Security Officer - Plant Access Control

As a Security Officer - Plant Access Control in Oxnard, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, issue badges, and support visitor and employee check-in using a computer and/or tablet. You will complete routine patrols and clear reports, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver customer-focused communication. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing location.Control access at entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and directing individuals to designated areas per site procedures.Process visitors, vendors, and contractors by maintaining sign-in and sign-out logs, confirming appointments, and communicating arrivals to site contacts.Support vehicle and delivery access control by verifying shipping and receiving documentation, coordinating with site personnel, and routing trucks to approved docks and staging areas.Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems to help identify unusual activity and report concerns according to site protocol.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, and facility disruptions, and escalate notifications as required.Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify hazards, unauthorized persons, and unsecured doors or gates.Complete required reports and documentation such as incident reports, shift logs, and access records with accurate and timely details.Provide escort duties for visitors and/or contractors when required by site policy.Coordinate with Allied Universal supervision, site management, and responding public services during incidents, maintaining a professional presence and clear communication.

Minimum Requirements:

A guard card and/or license is preferred.Customer service experience is preferred.Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
