What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.Perform entry screening duties such as greeting arrivals, directing foot traffic, checking credentials when required, and monitoring for prohibited items in accordance with site policy.Operate screening equipment and conduct visual inspections as trained, escalating exceptions to the appropriate point of contact.Support access control by verifying authorization for entry, issuing visitor passes when applicable, and maintaining visitor and/or vendor logs per site requirements.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including requesting medical staff support and/or contacting local emergency services as directed by post orders.Monitor designated areas using observation and available systems, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, including waiting areas, entrances, corridors, parking areas, and other assigned zones as permitted by site policy.Assist with de-escalation by using customer service skills, maintaining a professional presence, and helping to deter disruptive behavior.Complete shift documentation such as activity reports, incident reports, and screening logs with accurate, timely details.Coordinate with clinical teams, facility management, and Allied Universal leadership regarding access changes, special events, and/or heightened security-related concerns.Support emergency procedures such as lockdowns, evacuations, severe weather actions, and missing person responses as outlined in post orders.Follow infection control and hygiene requirements for the location, including use of required personal protective equipment and cleaning protocols for screening areas as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

A guard card and/or license is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
