As a Security Officer - Government Screening in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener in a government court location, you will welcome visitors, support orderly entry, and conduct security-related screening using walk-through detection and X-ray equipment. You will verify access, communicate clearly with court staff and the public, and document unusual activity while maintaining a professional, service-focused presence. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access control requirements, and post orders at a government location.Conduct entry screening using walk-through and hand-held metal detection equipment and/or x-ray screening systems in accordance with site policies and training.Verify identity and check credentials, appointments, and authorized access lists prior to allowing entry into controlled areas.Direct visitors through appropriate screening lanes, provide clear instructions for placing items on the belt, and manage lines to support orderly throughput.Inspect prohibited and restricted items identified during screening, follow established protocols for refusal of entry, and coordinate with site authorities as required.Operate and monitor screening equipment, report malfunctions, and document equipment checks per site procedures.Respond to incidents, alarms, and disruptive behavior in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance when needed.Complete required activity logs and incident reports with accurate details, including time, location, persons involved, and actions taken.Monitor designated areas such as lobbies, entrances, screening checkpoints, and adjacent public spaces to help to deter unauthorized access and/or disorderly conduct.Communicate professionally with court personnel, law enforcement, and Allied Universal leadership to coordinate screening operations and incident response.Follow emergency procedures for medical events, fire alarms, severe weather, and other critical situations, including notifications and controlled movement of occupants.Maintain professional appearance, customer-focused demeanor, and compliance with all policies related to confidentiality and handling of sensitive information.

Minimum Requirements:

A guard card and/or license is preferred.Customer service experience is preferred.X‐ray screening experience is preferred.CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
