As a Security Officer - Government Entry Control in Punta Gorda, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a government location, you will support access control by greeting visitors, verifying credentials, managing entry points, and documenting activity. You will stay visible, conduct routine patrols when assigned, and communicate clearly with staff and law enforcement to help identify and reduce security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to all visitors and personnel by following site-specific access control procedures at a government location, including verifying identification and authorization for entry.Operate access control equipment and systems such as badge readers, visitor logs, and key control processes, and report irregularities per post orders.Monitor entry points, cameras, and surrounding areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, escalating concerns through the established chain of command.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with on-site staff and/or emergency responders as directed.Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas as required, documenting security-related observations and completing shift reports.

Minimum Requirements:

Be at least 21 years of age.A guard card and/or license is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
