As an Access Control Officer in a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, track visitors, and coordinate with site staff to support smooth, professional access. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.Manage access control by greeting entrants, verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor passes, and directing guests to the appropriate department or meeting area.Operate access control systems and monitor entry points, including doors, gates, and checkpoints, and follow post orders for controlling authorized entry.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and requesting assistance from site contacts and/or public emergency services when needed.Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured areas, and policy violations and reporting concerns.Screen packages, deliveries, and vendor access per site policy, maintaining logs of deliveries and visitor activity as required.Complete required reports and documentation such as incident reports, patrol logs, and access records, and communicate relevant updates to Allied Universal management and site representatives.Support special events, public meetings, and higher-traffic periods by assisting with line management, entry control, and customer service while maintaining post coverage.

Minimum Requirements:

- Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.- Be 21 or more years of age.- Have 5 or more years of security-related experience.- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.- Have CPR and/or First Aid, preferred, and it may be completed post hire.- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
