Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.Control access at designated points by observing entry and exit activity, verifying authorization when required, and directing visitors to the appropriate check-in process.Monitor for suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations during patrols and routine rounds, and communicate observations via radio and/or phone.Complete detailed shift logs and incident reports, documenting observations, actions taken, and follow-up needs in accordance with site requirements.Operate site communication equipment and use approved reporting systems to dispatch information and coordinate responses as needed.Support emergency and non-emergency response activities, such as alarms, medical situations, weather events, and building issues, following post orders and supervisor direction.Interact professionally with government staff, contractors, and the public, providing directions and general assistance while maintaining assigned post responsibilities.Work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, including walking and standing for extended periods while performing patrol duties.Minimum Requirements:
Have at least 2 years of security experience.Be at least 21 years of age.Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.Alarm panel experience is preferred.A guard card and/or license is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
