As an Armed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will complete visible rounds and vehicle patrols, check critical areas, and help identify and report security-related concerns. This is an armed, driving post, requiring a valid armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license. You will communicate clearly with site teams and visitors while bringing Allied Universal values of integrity, teamwork, and a people-first culture to every shift.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.Maintain an armed post in accordance with Allied Universal policies, licensing requirements and site-specific post orders.Control access to restricted areas at a utilities location by verifying identification, authorizations and/or work orders for employees, contractors and visitors.Monitor alarms, surveillance systems and/or access control systems, and coordinate timely response consistent with site procedures.Document patrol activities, unusual conditions, incidents and corrective actions in daily activity reports and incident reports.Provide visible presence at entrances, gates, substations, yards and/or critical equipment areas to help to deter unauthorized access and suspicious activity.Communicate professionally with site operations, control room personnel and local public responders when escalation and/or coordinated response is needed.Conduct vehicle and/or package inspections when directed by site procedures and applicable regulations.Support traffic direction and pedestrian control during shift changes, deliveries, outages and/or special events as assigned.Maintain readiness of assigned equipment and follow chain-of-command notifications for security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

- An armed guard card and/or license is required.- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
