Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the healthcare location, including interior corridors, parking areas, and building perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.Help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity by maintaining a visible presence, verifying identification and/or credentials, and controlling access points as directed by post orders.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, disorderly conduct, and/or reports of suspicious persons.Use verbal de-escalation techniques and conflict management skills when interacting with individuals in emotional distress and/or high-stress situations.Carry, maintain, and secure assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, local laws, and site-specific requirements.Complete required weapons qualifications, training, and documentation, and immediately report any use-of-force related incident per policy.Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other security-related systems; investigate and document unusual activity and escalate concerns through the chain of command.Assist with emergency procedures such as evacuations, lockdowns, and/or medical emergency notifications as directed by site leadership and post orders.Prepare clear, detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and witness statements; preserve observations and relevant information for follow-up.Support staff with security-related escorts, including to vehicles and/or between buildings when requested and permitted by post orders.Coordinate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders when needed, while maintaining professionalism and protecting confidentiality requirements for the healthcare environment.Minimum Requirements:
Have a minimum of 2 years of security experience.Possess an armed guard card and/or license.Be at least 21 years of age.CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
