As a Security Officer - Armed School in CHICAGO, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic education location as an armed patrol officer supporting campus operations. You will conduct routine patrols on foot and by bike, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls with clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a campus setting.Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, and campus perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing initial scene control and communicating updates to campus partners and/or public responders.Control access at designated posts by checking identification, verifying authorization, monitoring entry points, and reporting suspicious behavior in accordance with site-specific policies.Complete detailed reports of patrols, incidents, and security-related observations, and use radio and/or phone communications to coordinate with the site team and supervisors.

Minimum Requirements:

Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.Possess an armed guard card and/or license.Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.Be at least 21+ years of age.A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.Be able to ride a bike.Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
