Security Officer -Armed Residential Driver

As a Security Officer -Armed Residential Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As a driving post in a residential community, you will help manage access control at entrances, greet residents and guests, verify credentials, monitor activity, and communicate issues quickly and professionally. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols as needed, and write clear reports that support a smooth daily experience. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential community.Control access at assigned entry points by verifying resident credentials and/or guest authorization, issuing visitor passes as directed, and directing traffic flow during peak arrival periods.Monitor inbound and outbound activity for unusual or unauthorized access attempts and report concerns to site leadership and/or local emergency services when needed.Maintain accurate access logs and incident reports, including visitor entries, contractor check-ins, and delivery activity, using written and/or electronic systems.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and established escalation procedures.Conduct regular and random patrols of community common areas and the perimeter, checking for open doors or gates, suspicious activity, and property conditions that may require attention.Operate and monitor security-related equipment such as access control systems, radios, cameras, and alarm panels, and report malfunctions or irregular readings.Provide directions and general assistance to residents and visitors, helping to support a welcoming environment while following community rules and policies.Coordinate with onsite staff, property management, and/or maintenance teams regarding access needs, resident concerns, and follow-up on reported issues.Participate in required training and maintain readiness to carry out post assignments in changing working environments and conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

Have at least 1+ years’ armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.Be 21+ years of age.A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
