Security Officer - Armed Morning

As a Security Officer - Armed Mobile Driver in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy public transit location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and strong customer service. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including parking areas, exterior perimeter, bus bays, platforms, passenger waiting areas and/or administrative spaces, as permitted by post orders.Serve as an armed presence in accordance with Allied Universal post orders, applicable laws and required training, including proper carry and storage of assigned equipment.Monitor and control access at designated entrances, employee-only areas and/or restricted zones, checking identification and authorizations when required.Observe passenger activity and operational areas, helping to deter disorderly conduct, trespassing and/or unauthorized entry, and report concerning behavior per site procedures.Assist with de-escalation during fare disputes, service disruptions and/or other customer conflicts, requesting additional support from supervisors and/or public responders as needed.Support crowd management during peak periods, special events and/or service interruptions by providing direction and communicating site rules and expectations.Respond to alarms, radio calls and/or requests for assistance, coordinating with dispatch, supervisors, local responders and/or transit personnel as directed.Complete required documentation such as incident reports, daily activity logs and/or shift handoff notes, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.Conduct security-related checks of doors, gates, lighting and/or other physical conditions, and report maintenance concerns and hazards to the appropriate contact.Use communication systems and equipment as directed, including radios, access control tools and/or video monitoring when assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.A minimum of 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
