As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a public library location, you will conduct routine armed patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License and a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements, with driving as needed for patrol coverage. Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a public-facing library location by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities.Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies, including conducting required equipment checks and completing related documentation.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility, reading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity, identify hazards, and report maintenance concerns.Monitor access points and key areas, observe for suspicious behavior, and complete timely reports for security-related incidents, patron issues, and/or policy violations.Minimum Requirements:
Possess an armed guard card/license.A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
