As a Security Officer - Armed Government Gate Driver in West Palm Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location in an access control role where you will greet staff and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and document activity while maintaining a strong, professional presence. This is an armed, driving post, supporting mobile coverage and rapid response as needed. Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.Control access to the facility by verifying identification, confirming authorization, and directing visitors and vendors to the proper check-in process.Operate access control systems to grant and/or restrict entry, issue temporary credentials when authorized, and maintain visitor, contractor, and delivery logs.Screen persons, packages, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures, and report prohibited or suspicious items per post orders.Monitor alarms, cameras, intercoms, and/or other security-related systems, and communicate observed issues to the appropriate contacts.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting actions taken, and assisting emergency services as directed.Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.Write clear, timely reports including incident reports, daily activity logs, and access control records, and escalate concerns through the chain of command.Provide directions and general assistance to the public while maintaining professional access control standards and supporting a positive site environment.Support site procedures for special events, high-traffic periods, and restricted-area access, including coordinating with site representatives and law enforcement when requested.Minimum Requirements:
A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.A minimum of 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience is required, or a college degree is required.An armed guard card and/or license is required.Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required.Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
