As a Security Officer - Armed Federal Patrol in Punta Gorda, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with calm professionalism. You will observe and report unusual activity, support access control and perimeter checks, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. This post requires an armed guard card or license and offers a team-focused environment grounded in integrity.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific, security-related procedures, access requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Perform armed patrol duties in accordance with Allied Universal post orders, applicable laws, and client policies.Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and request law enforcement and/or medical resources when needed.Conduct regular and random patrols of government buildings, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.Monitor and control access at vehicle and pedestrian entrances, verifying authorization, issuing visitor instructions, and documenting arrivals and departures as required.Observe for suspicious activity and policy violations and take appropriate action to help to deter prohibited behavior through presence, verbal direction, and timely reporting.Write clear, detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and observations and complete required logs and forms.Operate communication and monitoring equipment such as radios, telephones, and cameras to support security-related operations.Assist with traffic direction and parking control during peak hours, special events, and/or incident response activities.Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols to check doors, gates, and restricted areas and report maintenance and security-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.Maintain proper care, accountability, and lawful handling of issued equipment and follow all training and qualification requirements for an armed post.Support client personnel and first responders during drills and real-time events by establishing perimeters, guiding occupants, and providing timely information.

Minimum Requirements:

Have 2+ years' law enforcement/military police/corrections experience.Possess an armed guard card/license.Be 21+ years of age.Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
