As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced tech and telecom location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor alarms and/or access systems, and document activity using computers or tablets. You will remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents while delivering professional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to clients at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Monitor access points and manage visitor processing, including verifying identification, issuing badges, maintaining access logs, and coordinating with site contacts for approvals.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts when appropriate and escalating concerns through established communication channels.Support access control operations for employees, contractors, deliveries, and vendors by following screening protocols and directing individuals to the correct entry procedures.Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, documenting observations and reporting maintenance issues, hazards, and/or suspicious activity per site procedure.

Minimum Requirements:

Have at least 2 years of security experience.Be at least 21 years of age.Alarm panel experience is preferred.Customer service experience is preferred.Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
