As a Security Guard - Warehouse - Unarmed in Markham, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a leading tech location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine mobile patrols with a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with teams, and provide professional customer service to employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including observing, reporting, and escalating per site procedures.Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, building interiors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify irregular conditions.Monitor access points and assist with visitor processing, credential checks, and directing authorized personnel to the appropriate locations per site requirements.Complete routine reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs with clear, accurate details for site management and Allied Universal leadership.Observe and report maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or unusual conditions such as propped doors, damaged fencing, or malfunctioning lighting, and route findings to the appropriate contacts.Support security-related screening and/or package delivery coordination as assigned, following posted procedures and client-specific guidelines.Operate assigned equipment such as radios, phones, and computer-based systems for report writing and communication.Coordinate with on-site teams and local responders as directed during alarms, medical events, and other urgent situations.Follow post orders and site procedures while working in environments and conditions that may vary by location and shift.

Minimum Requirements:

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
