As a Security Guard - Patrol Driver - Weekdays in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed driving patrol officer at a fast-paced tech location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and a customer-first approach. You will document observations, support access control and visitor needs, and collaborate with site teams. Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology workplace location.Control access to buildings and restricted areas by verifying credentials, logging arrivals and departures, issuing temporary badges when authorized, and directing visitors to approved destinations.Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, alarms, disputes, and suspicious activity, and request additional support as needed.Conduct regular and random patrols of offices, labs, parking areas, loading docks, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.Monitor access control systems, intrusion alarms, and video surveillance equipment when assigned, and report observed issues for maintenance and/or follow-up.Complete detailed reports and daily activity logs, including incident documentation, patrol observations, and follow-up actions, using required reporting systems.Assist with emergency procedures such as evacuations, shelter-in-place events, and severe weather protocols as directed by site leadership and Allied Universal management.Provide customer service focused directions and general assistance, including escorting visitors to check-in points and supporting controlled delivery and pickup processes.Support protection of company property by checking doors, gates, and critical areas for signs of forced entry and/or unsecured conditions, and notifying site contacts when issues are found.Work closely with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership to communicate observations, support operational needs, and maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times.Minimum Requirements:
Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.Be at least 21+ years of age.A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.A guard card and/or license is preferred.Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
