Job Description Summary

This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of a Director of Security and supporting the needs of the property management office. The individual will oversee all aspects of building security systems, while also providing operational and administrative support to the Property Manager. The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure a secure, well-maintained, and tenant-focused environment.

Job Description

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Supervise security staff and ensure effective training, performance, and adherence to all safety protocols. Monitor and maintain all security systems including CCTV, access control, alarms, and incident tracking. Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the building’s interior and exterior to ensure a secure environment. Serve as liaison with NYPD, FDNY, OEM, and other public safety agencies as needed. Provide support to tenants on safety and security matters including investigations and policy enforcement. Manage relationships with contracted security vendors and oversee related capital projects. Maintain accurate security logs, incident reports, and develop standard operating procedures. Support management office with efforts, including holiday events, newsletters, and building notices. Support property operations including oversight of work orders, purchase orders, and maintenance coordination. Maintain organized and up-to-date property files, contracts, vendor COIs, and building procedures. Ensure timely processing of invoices and tenant bill-backs. Provide general administrative support including filing, report generation, tenant communication, and scheduling. Coordinate service contracts and vendor performance; obtain bids as needed for services. Lead coordination of fire drills, emergency preparedness training, and evacuation procedures. Oversee procurement, maintenance, and inventory of uniforms, supplies, and security technology. Assist with budget preparation and monthly financial reporting. Lead regular building inspections with janitorial, landscape, and other service vendors.

Education & Experience

Seeking military, law enforcement, or security management background.

Experience in building security, safety, or property operations.

Experience supervising personnel and managing vendor relationships.

Knowledge of building systems, commercial security equipment, and emergency protocols.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with security and safety systems including CCTV, access control, and incident management platforms.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to read and interpret building plans, safety codes, and vendor contracts.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00
