Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **About the Role** This leadership role is based within a Caterpillar parts and hose assembly operation supporting multiple North American manufacturing facilities. The Menominee, Michigan site assembles, inspects, packages, and ships hydraulic hoses used across Caterpillar machines. As a **Production Section Manager** , you will lead the launch of a newly created **weekend shift** in response to increased demand. The role operates **Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM** and oversees end‑to‑end hose assembly operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. This position manages approximately **20–30 hourly employees** through **three Team Leads** , fostering accountability, communication, and continuous improvement in a non-union environment. **Key Responsibilities:** + Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality. + Actively participate in production meetings to communicate updates and drive improvements. + Preparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards. + Lead continuous improvement initiatives by managing improvement boards and maintaining accurate records. + Supervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance. + Coordinating training of new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. **Top Candidates Will have:** + Degree or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience preferred. + 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or distribution environment. + Experience leading teams through Team Leads, supervisors, or similar frontline leadership roles. + Understanding of Root Cause Analysis and corrective action processes. + Exposure to parts assembly, hose assembly, hydraulic components, or high-mix manufacturing operations. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with Power BI and SAP is a plus. + Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams from diverse leadership backgrounds, including first-time supervisors or leaders from non-traditional industries. **Skills and Competencies:** **Problem Solving:** Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. **Performance Management:** Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance. **Analytical Thinking:** Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. **Decision Making and Critical Thinking** : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. **Planning and Organizing:** Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way. **Additional Information:** **Location** : Menominee, MI **Relocation** : Not Offered **Sponsorship** : Not Available **Travel:** 5% **Summary Pay Range:** $81,370.00 - $122,060.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
