Job Description
3-5 years experience in: installs, tests, tunes, maintains, hardens, upgrades, patches, designs and documents supporting systems, utility programs, and monitoring tools for physical hosts and virtual machines running Vmware operating systems on both classified and unclassified networks. Creates and manages capacity and trending reports of system operations. Analyzes system requirements and performance of hardware/software systems, and develops/recommends specific measures to increase the overall efficiency of these systems.
Perform day to day troubleshooting and maintenance of VMware ESXi, vCenter, NSX and related servers. Perform annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on all VMware servers and related installed software. Notify appropriate Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC), in writing, within 4 hours for all accountable item moves. Neatly bundle and conceal all excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair.

Skills and Requirements
3–5 years experience installing, configuring, maintaining, hardening, upgrading, and documenting VMware ESXi, vCenter, and NSX systems.
Experience supporting physical hosts and virtual machines across classified and unclassified networks.
Strong troubleshooting skills for ESXi hosts, vCenter, NSX, and related servers in day‑to‑day operations.
Ability to perform DISA STIG compliance checks and remediate findings for VMware environments.
Experience generating and managing capacity, utilization, and performance reports.
Ability to analyze system performance and recommend improvements to increase overall efficiency.
Familiarity with asset accountability procedures, including written notifications to ITEC/PC for equipment moves.
Commitment to clean cabling standards after installations or repairs. VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV, VCP-NV/NSX, or higher.
Experience with PowerCLI, automation, or scripting for VMware administration.
Exposure to vSAN, SRM, HCX, or vRealize products (vROps, vRA, vRO).
Experience supporting DoD environments, RMF processes, ACAS/Nessus scans, or STIG Viewer.
Knowledge of storage (NFS/iSCSI/FC), networking (VLANs, VDS, routing), or server hardware lifecycle.
Experience with backup platforms (Veeam, Cohesity, Rubrik) for virtualized workloads.
Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) for change/incident/asset management.
