SEC Compliance Manager/Director
Description Colleen McAuliffe at Robert Half is looking for an experienced SEC Compliance Manager/Director to oversee external financial reporting processes for our organization in Sunnyvale, California. This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and accounting standards to ensure accurate and timely disclosures. The position offers a collaborative environment with exposure to executive leadership and cross-functional teams, providing opportunities for skill development and advancement. Responsibilities: • Lead the preparation, review, and submission of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and proxy statements. • Coordinate with internal departments to collect and validate information required for financial disclosures. • Manage the SEC reporting calendar to ensure all deadlines are adhered to effectively. • Facilitate discussions with finance leadership, leveraging strong communication skills to address reporting requirements and updates. • Oversee compliance with internal controls and key aspects of the financial close process, such as share-based compensation accounting. • Provide guidance and training to early-career staff and stakeholders on SEC reporting standards and disclosure requirements. • Stay updated on changes in SEC regulations, accounting standards, and industry trends, implementing necessary updates to processes and disclosures. • Drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of SEC reporting workflows. • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of government reporting submissions. • Support career development and strategic planning for team members. Requirements • CPA required designation with extensive knowledge of accounting principles and SEC regulations. • Proven expertise in SEC financial reporting and filing processes. • Experience preparing and filing Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K. • Strong understanding of US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial reporting or a related field. • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to collaborate across teams and with executive management. • Ability to manage complex reporting schedules and meet strict deadlines. • Proficiency in identifying and implementing process improvements within financial reporting operations.
