Seasonal Tax Preparer

Hours: 40–50 hours/week during tax season; reduced hours off‑season

Location: On‑site

Schedule (Seasonal Availability Window):

Mon–Fri: 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.Sat: 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.Sun: 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.Note: Two employees must be scheduled within these hours; you will not be required to work the entire span.About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Prep Specialist to join our team for the upcoming tax season. In this role, you’ll work directly with clients to interview, prepare accurate tax returns, and ensure a smooth, supportive experience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys client interaction, problem‑solving, and delivering high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare individual—and occasional small business—tax returns accurately and efficiently.Review source documents, determine necessary forms, and ensure all data is properly entered into tax software.Conduct client interviews, explain return outcomes, and provide basic tax planning guidance.Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a professional client experience.Stay current on relevant federal and state tax rules to ensure full compliance.Maintain organized and secure documentation, records, and client files.Follow up with clients to secure missing information or clarify details.Collaborate closely with the Office Supervisor and assist with daily office operations.Support light marketing touchpoints when needed.Adhere to company policies, accuracy standards, and confidentiality requirements.Required Skills & Qualifications1–2 seasons of tax preparation experience (or equivalent).Solid working knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.Valid PTIN (or eligibility to obtain one).Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office.Strong attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills.Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during peak tax season.Employee Value Proposition (EVP)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Appleton, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
