JOB DESCRIPTIONCombination role to include landscaping and tree grounds person duties. Landscaping duties may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, mulching, weeding, edging, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, tree and shrub pruning and assisting with installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Use hand/power tools and equipment such as edgers, blowers and mowers to landscape and maintain grounds of property. Assist with sprinkler installation and maintenance (use hand shovel to dig trench approximately 6 inches wide and 12 inches deep, after lines are laid). Load/unload/move trees, shrubs, and landscape materials; remove debris; maintain, clean and repair equipment/tools when not in use. Assist with tree trimming/pruning by cleaning up debris on ground using a woodchipper and chainsaw. Must follow all safety regulations and The Davey Tree Expert, LLC safety guidelines, including but not limited to employer-provided personal protective equipment. Must attend all safety training on first, CPR and aerial rescue procedures. Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire upon suspicion of use and post-accident. Post-hire background check and employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Obtaining driver's license not required. However to receive reimbursement of driver's license expenses and potential hourly bonus pay, those workers will be expected to periodically drive company vehicles as needed. On-the-job training will be provided to the worker.
WORK LOCATIONSPlace(s) of Employment: 1241 Pomfret Rd. Woodstock, VT 05091 and multiple worksites within Grafton(NH), Sullivan(NH), Addison(VT), Chittenden(VT), Rutland(VT), Windham(VT) and Windsor(VT) counties.
WAGE & WORK SCHEDULEStandard Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday 40 hours per week) Board / Lodging: If requested, employer helps non-local workers secure optional worker-paid lodging. Wage: $22.57 per hour (OT hours vary @ $33.86 per hour). Raises and/or bonuses may be offered at employer's discretion, based on individual factors such as performance, skill, and tenure. Deductions: Employer makes all payroll deductions required by law. Voluntary deductions must be pre-authorized in writing and may include the following: Voluntary advances and/or loans made to workers, if any, may be repaid by pre-authorized payroll deductions. Employer deducts reasonable fair market value cost of rent/utilities based on number of occupants for workers electing to reside in employer-arranged housing (cost TBD). Employer may also deduct for Holiday pay provided to all eligible workers in the position
OTHER TERMSTools / Supplies / Equipment: Employer provides without charge company-specific uniform and all tools, supplies and equipment necessary to perform duties assigned. Transportation: For non-local workers (i.e., residing outside normal commuting distance), employer pays or reimburses inbound travel costs no later than the 50% point in contract period. Inbound travel includes transportation costs from worker’s permanent residence or place of recruitment, a daily meal subsistence, and reasonable lodging costs, if applicable. Subsistence reimbursements based on rates specified in the Federal Register (currently $16.28 per day minimum, or $68.00 per day maximum for workers with acceptable receipts). Transportation reimbursements will not exceed least-cost common carrier rate. Employer provides or pays outbound travel costs upon completion of the contract or early dismissal, except where the worker has subsequent employment. Employer offers free daily transportation to/from worksite from designated pick-up location. Use of transportation is voluntary. Employer provides incidental transport between job sites. Three-Fourths Guarantee: Employer will offer hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period, starting with the first workday after worker’s arrival and ending on the contract end date or any extension thereof. Employer may count all hours worked and any hours offered (but not worked) within the standard work schedule. Workers who voluntarily abandon employment are not entitled to payment for outbound travel costs or the full three-fourths guarantee described above.
