Davey Resource Group, a Davey Company, is seeking motivated individuals interested in natural resources careers to join our team as Seasonal Environmental Technicians. DRG provides a full range of ecological and horticultural services, including habitat restoration, invasive species management, lakeshore and bluff stabilization, streambank and ravine restoration, prescribed burning, and traditional landscape maintenance for clients in both private and public sectors throughout the Midwest.
Positions are available in both Indianapolis and South Bend, Indiana.

Job DutiesPosition Description and Responsibilities Duties: Selected candidates will work collaboratively as part of a team. Position involves a variety of work, including invasive plant control, native plant and seed installation, streambank stabilization and restoration, prescribed burning, traditional landscape management and other types of habitat restoration. The position is full time, but depends on workload and weather conditions. The majority of work is outdoors, often in inclement weather and in rugged terrain, and may involve using heavy equipment, such as spray rigs, backpack sprayers, augers, chain saws, mowers, etc...
Seasonal full-time positions are available with flexible start dates starting spring 2026. End dates are flexible depending on semester schedules for students returning to school. Seasonal term will carry through the fall for graduates and others not returning to school, with the potential to extend or remain permanently based on job performance and work availability.
Possession of or willingness to obtain an Indiana State Chemist Certified Pesticide Applicators License is required. Prescribed burn experience and S130/S190 certification, and native plant identification a plus. Training in chain saw, brush saw, and 4x4 ATV/UTV is beneficial. A degree in biology, botany, ecology, conservation, environmental science, or related fields is preferred.**Active students are encouraged to apply. Seasonal positions are available. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, have a good driving record, and be able to report directly to the work site. Additional InformationStart and end times vary based on the time of the year and the day’s assignment (start time is 7am). Work is 100% field based. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, approximately 10 hours a day (this includes travel if reporting to an office).
A normal work day consists of: reporting to an office at set time, participating in daily stretches, assisting with loading supplies and equipment, riding in a company vehicle to worksite, perform/achieve worksite’s daily goal, riding back to the office and assisting with unloading.
