**Job Title: Scraper Operator** Job Description The scraper operator will be responsible for leveling terrain by cutting to grade. This involves driving across the earth's surface, operating a scraper to collect and relocate soil as needed. The operator will manage fill and prepare the ground for final grading by dozer operators. Working hours are from 6 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday shifts depending on workload and weather conditions. In some instances, the workday may extend to 14 hours. The operator must conduct pre-inspection and end-of-day inspection of the machinery and report any issues to management. Responsibilities + Operate MTS 3630 Wheeled or Track Scrapers and MTS 745 with pan CAT 627 or CAT 637 for rough grading work. + Ensure terrain is leveled for subsequent grading operations. + Conduct pre-inspection and end-of-day inspection of the machinery. + Report any machine concerns to management promptly. + Maintain a professional appearance and behavior according to site code of conduct. Essential Skills + 3+ years of experience operating scrapers on a commercial job site involving mass grading. + Proficiency in operating heavy civil construction equipment such as Earthwork, Earthmoving, Belly Scraper, and heavy equipment operation. + Ability to operate under rough conditions and manage equipment effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Valid driver's license and ability to be insured for company vehicle operation. + Experience with paddle wheel scrapers is advantageous, especially if skilled in finishing. + Understanding of the components of a scraper, including the tractor, apron, bowl, and ejector. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Lunas, New Mexico. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
