We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Nursing Scheduler to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, appropriate staffing levels that support quality resident care.
Position Overview
The Nursing Scheduler is responsible for generating, managing, and updating master schedules for the nursing department. This position makes adjustments as needed based on census, budget, attendance, call-outs, benefits, and pre-planned leaves of absence. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role requiring strong organization, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities Follows the master staffing scheduleCommunicates continuously with DON/ADON to ensure coordination of information and maintain accuracy of nursing schedulePrepares daily staffing sheets with continual revisions as necessaryFollows facility policy and DON guidelines for numbers and assignment of staffCompletes a listing of vacant nursing positions for DON weeklySchedules staff vacations according to established guidelines and the DON/ADON's directionEnsures at least one other staff member is oriented to the scheduler’s position in the event of vacation, sick leave, etc.Creates and maintains forms necessary for completion of scheduler's taskRespects the confidentiality and dignity of staff and residentsReviews daily exception logs for payrollEnsures all new employee orientation schedules are on staffing sheet.Communicates regularly with agency contacts and maintains positive, proactive business relationshipSupports and abides by Elderwood’s Mission, Vision and ValuesMust abide by Elderwood’s businesses code of conduct, compliance and HIPAA policiesPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisor or management staff
Qualifications At least 1 year experience in health care staffing.Prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medication Technician (Med Tech) strongly preferred.High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Strong leadership and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Exceptional problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Prior experience with Kronos strongly preferred.
