Become a Transmission and Distribution Business Resiliency Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll strengthen SCE’s readiness and resilience by leading emergency preparedness, continuity planning, training, and response coordination across T&D organizations and serve as the primary liaison between T&D and Business Resiliency teams. You will guide enterprise‑wide resiliency initiatives, support emergency management programs, oversee continuity planning efforts, lead readiness training and exercises, track corrective actions from real‑world events, and manage key response teams such as the Electrical Service Incident Management Team (ESIMT) Task Force positions. Responsibilities Executes risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential business interruptions. Supports business resiliency incident management activities within the crisis management processes and monitors lessons learned. Drives projects related to crisis management, ensuring effective execution and desired outcomes. Conducts analysis of business functions and key business services, mapping to identify critical dependencies and potential vulnerabilities. Monitors events/incidents relating to operational resilience, including near misses and facilitates escalation, remediation, and coordination of the company's response as required. Implements, manages, and maintains resiliency program infrastructure, including business resiliency tools, notification systems, documentation, and management reporting. Identifies areas to mature in the program to increase the company's resilience capabilities, assisting the business functions in identifying and remediating gaps in their resilience capabilities. Designs and facilitates meaningful plan exercises, analyzes outcomes to identify trends, weaknesses/gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve plans and strengthen resiliency. A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications Ten or more years of experience in dealing with emergency management, business resiliency, or facility preparedness.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Technical and Operational Knowledge: Experience with Transmission and Distribution operations, including exposure to field work, substation activities, equipment, and end-to-end grid operations. Experience applying operational knowledge to support decision-making that balances system needs and customer outcomes. Experience working with both field teams and executive leadership. Planning, Coordination & Program Management: Experience in project or program management, including resource coordination and working knowledge of T&D organizational structures. Experience supporting oversight of complex programs or operational initiatives. Experience with talent identification, program coordination, onboarding activities, and supporting readiness or emergency response efforts. Collaboration and Cross Functional Effectiveness: Experience working across multiple teams including T&D organizations, corporate functions, and Business Resiliency partners, to support shared objectives. Communication & Leadership Engagement: Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with field personnel, planners, and technical subject matter experts. Change Management & Adaptability: Experience supporting change initiatives, including process changes, training efforts, and readiness or adoption activities. Experience with the Outage Management System (OMS) system. Experience with data querying and Power BI tools to support operational and performance analysis. Experience supporting Power System Power Shutoff (PSPS) events and Incident Management Team (IMT) response efforts.  

 

 

Additional Information 

 

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs. The primary work location for this position is Ontario. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at Pomona and Irwindale. This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties. Relocation does not apply to this position.
