Job Title: Sanitation Worker

Job Description

Join our sanitation department where you will play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. As a Sanitation Worker, you will be responsible for cleaning machinery and disassembling and reassembling parts to meet necessary standards. A mechanical aptitude is required, and experience with lockout-tagout procedures is highly preferred. You should be comfortable working at heights and using cleaning chemicals. Various shift opportunities are available to fit your schedule.

ResponsibilitiesSanitize and clean production areas using chemicals and cleaning tools, while wearing appropriate PPE.Evaluate sanitation effectiveness through visual inspection and chemical concentration assessments.Complete pre-operational inspections of equipment and document findings.Understand and adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).Contribute to incident investigations, including safety and food safety incidents.Prepare production equipment for cleaning by following proper lockout-tagout procedures.Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble food-processing equipment, ensuring all safety rules and regulations are enforced.Monitor inventory of cleaning equipment and supplies.Maintain plant cleanliness in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety standards.Coordinate supplies, equipment, and contractor support for plant sanitation and pest control.Log and record daily chemical usage.Train employees in sanitation-related procedures and programs.Foster a team atmosphere and maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.Clean equipment entering the washroom by following written procedures, ensuring all parts are safely replaced.Perform simple mathematical calculations as required.Work independently and notify supervision of any issues.Perform all other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsMechanical aptitudeExperience with lockout-tagout proceduresUnderstanding of GMPs and sanitation standardsAbility to work at heights and with cleaning chemicalsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in sanitation and cleaning within food production environmentsProficient in using Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) with proper certificationAbility to perform basic mathematical calculationsStrong communication skills and ability to work well in a teamWhy Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.65 - $18.15/hr.
