Sanitation & Recycling Supervisor
The Sanitation & Recycling Supervisor will work as a part of the QA–Compliance Team to guide the sanitation & janitorial teams for effective adherence to company and customer needs. Management of the recycling programs and supporting sustainability initiatives are included. Continuous improvements to these programs are expected. Establishment of daily work activities for the teams and verification of the teams meeting expected standards. Work Specifications – Responsibilities: + Responsible for food safety and quality aspects relating to company policy and standards. + Continuous improvement recommendations to the existing programs & recommendations for creation of new standards. + Provide direction and oversight to the sanitation & janitorial teams + Verification of teams success Monitor for compliance to standards; identify program improvements; document findings & communicate activities, results and follow-up actions required + Provide oversight to critical maintenance and cleaning programs, such as preventative maintenance, cleaning of respective work areas + Direct communication with plant level employees: on floor; shift meetings; plant meetings & training sessions + Administrative tasks for employees: scheduling, payroll & other appropriate employee management tasks + Maintain and order appropriate supplies for the existing staff and tasks + Work directly with Plant/GNS Production and Maintenance Departments to review and improve existing sanitation protocols and procedures applicable to all aseptic equipment in the facility. + Work collaboratively with recycling partners to monitor, implement and improve programs. + Facilitate activities with recycling partners. (cardboard, liquid & solid waste, drums, hazardous materials) + Highlight potential sanitary design issues and in risk-based prioritization of projects relative to sanitation and food safety. + Support and lead sanitation training efforts according to established SSOPs. Participate in development of training SOPs. + Assist with the Master Sanitation Program (MPS), as necessary: + Identification & administration of MSP program + Coordination with external cleaning partners + Verification of cleaning + Recommendations to maintain and improve Master Sanitation Program Education/Prerequisite Requirements: + Associates degree or 3+ year’s relevant experience + Possess knowledge of aseptic plant operations to properly understand sanitation + Possess exemplary communication skills with internal partners: Production and Maintenance departments + Must be very organized, and detail oriented + Ability to multi-task and prioritize priorities + Ability to train Skills/Training Knowledge: + Must be experienced MS Excel, Word and Project Management Software + Interactions with all Steuben Foods interdepartmental managers and employees + Strong Communication, Collaboration, & Teamwork Orientation Project Management (for overseeing coordination, tasks, etc. for sanitation) + Maintenance PM tool knowledge plus Strong Analytical and Presentation Skills + Excel and PowerPoint Capability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40hrs/week + overtime as required for off shift or project support Expected time on floor: 60% – 75% of workday Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 Steuben Foods is committed to equal employment opportunity.
