Sanitation Manager

As part of the site Quality Team, you will lead day-to-day sanitation operations, ensuring the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and compliant condition that supports food safety and production readiness. You will oversee sanitation execution across all shifts, ensuring teams follow SSOPs, GMPs, allergen control, Zoning, and IPM requirements while driving consistency and discipline in sanitation routines.

You will combine people leadership, technical understanding, and strong organizational skills to coach sanitation supervisors, develop team capability, and build routines that support operational stability. As a key leader, you will help elevate sanitation ownership across the organization and ensure sanitation activities align with regulatory and Mondelez standards.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to resolve sanitation issues, support improvement initiatives, and create a safe environment where teams can perform their best work while producing high-quality product

How you will contribute

You will:

Sanitation Governance & Execution

Oversee scheduling and execution of sanitation activities across all shifts.Ensure pre-op readiness, documentation accuracy, and timely escalation of issues.Coordinate staffing, chemical needs, contractor work, and sanitation resources.Drive compliance to SSOPs, PEM, Zoning, Allergen Control, and sanitation regulatory expectations.Lead daily IPM execution: address sanitation conditions, structural deficiencies, and trends with the pest control provider.Conduct sanitation audits, trend findings, and ensure timely corrective actions.Partner with the Process Engineer to deploy improved SSOPs, validations, and cleaning transformations.

Safety & Quality

Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with chemical handling, PPE, LOTO, and safe work practices.Validate sanitation and IPM documentation, pre-op readiness, and traceability requirements.Take immediate action on sanitation or pest-related non-conformances.

People Leadership

Coach and develop sanitation supervisors to strengthen leadership and technical capability.Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support supervisors in leading their teams effectively.Own the Sanitation Engagement Action Plan and drive actions that improve culture, morale, and performance.Support onboarding, capability development, and succession planning for sanitation team members.

Delivery & Cost

Ensure sanitation supports production start-up on time and in full.Respond promptly to sanitation issues impacting production, equipment, or food safety.Manage sanitation performance data and support sanitation loss elimination.Optimize chemical use, sanitation tools, and vendor/contractor costs.

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field requiredHACCP or PCQI certification preferred.Additional certifications in sanitation or IPM programs beneficial.

Job specific requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in sanitation, food safety, or quality roles in a food manufacturing setting.Experience supervising or leading frontline teams.Strong understanding of SSOPs, Zoning, Allergen Control, PEM, IPM, and sanitation verification programs.Experience conducting sanitation or GMP audits and driving corrective action.Knowledge of chemical handling, sanitation methods, and cleaning validation principles.Ability to manage contractors and multiple sanitation resources across shifts.Strong capability in documentation, recordkeeping, and digital sanitation tools.

Monday-Friday 1st shift

Salary and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $97,300 to $133,815; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
