Our growing Water practice is looking for a strong Staff Collection Systems Specialist interested in partnering with engineering staff on a wide variety of water distribution and wastewater collection systems projects throughout Kansas and Missouri. The successful candidate will have a strong background in theplanning, assessment, and design of water distribution and wastewater collection system rehabilitation. The projects are often complex and must be completed efficiently to enable larger sewer and water system improvements.
Assist with the development of comprehensive water and wastewater master plans, condition assessments, and capital improvement plans (CIP) to support long-term asset management.Assist with the civil design ofwater and sewer rehabilitation projectsfrom the conceptual phase through design completion, meeting all project needs and requirements.Assist with developing and evaluating alternatives for the rehabilitation of aging water, sewer, and drainage systems, including the use of trenchless technologies (e.g., CIPP, pipe bursting, slip-lining) and traditional replacement methods.Interface with subcontractors, clients, and other engineers and designers to support the overall project goals and timelines.Apply knowledge of commonly used civil engineering concepts, practices, codes, and procedures, particularly as they relate tosanitary sewer infrastructure rehabilitation.Quality review production drawings and reports for a variety of projects to verify design compliance with project, client, and industry standards, including constructability.Lead field inspections, installation, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients,including inflow and infiltration (II) studies and sanitary sewer evaluation surveys (SSES).Coordinate field investigations and development of surveys.Responsible for the verification and preparation of maps, illustrations, databases and various types of cartographic compilations relating to water resource systems.Develop geographic information system (GIS) and global positioning system (GPS) applications to better collect data in a given geographic location.Develop condition assessment and asset management strategies and programs.Support development of digital delivery solutions.Support the development of project reports and make appropriate recommendations based on report analysis.Build effective relationships with existing clients and contractors and develop new business opportunities centered on ourwastewater planning and rehabilitation services.Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the civil engineering practice. Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.Responsible for QA/QC process adherence and effective communication with other engineering disciplines.Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all company policies and standards.
