The sandblast operator will perform paint preparation duties using air-powered sandblasting equipment, grinders, needle guns, and other hand/power tools to clear surfaces for painting. The operator will inspect each item, remove weld splatter, excess welds, and sharp edges, ensuring the part or trailer is fully prepared for painting. The role includes marking mis-welds and identifying other quality defects in trailers. Occasionally, the operator may operate a forklift to move materials around the shop.

Work Environment
This role operates on the 1st shift in a relaxed fabrication shop environment. Team members work in pairs, with the company having over 100 employees. The necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) includes hearing protection, safety glasses, safety boots with metatarsal guards, a face shield, and potentially a respirator.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
