Job Title: Industrial Sandblast Operator

Job Description

The Industrial Sandblast Operator will be part of a dynamic team working in the blast room, responsible for preparing and processing parts according to work orders. This role requires reading prints to understand product specifications and safely handling materials weighing from 40 lbs to 1,000 lbs using overhead cranes and forklifts.

Responsibilities

Prepare and stage parts for the blast room per work orders.Read and interpret prints to understand product specifications.Handle materials using overhead cranes and forklifts.Rig materials to ensure safety and proper positioning.Operate industrial sandblasting guns to apply media onto metal parts.Move parts out of the blast facility and inspect for quality assurance.Perform maintenance on blast guns and equipment.Clean the blast booth, including sweeping and general tidying.

Essential Skills

Mechanical aptitude and strong work ethic.Direct sandblasting experience is a major plus.Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Willingness to train individuals with mechanical aptitude.Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

Work Environment

The work is conducted in a general manufacturing plant with machines, plating tanks, and paint/blast booth areas. The sandblast booth is fully enclosed and requires wearing PPE, including a full protective suit and helmet with cool, fresh air pumped in. Teams of three operate in the blast process, utilizing cranes and other material handling equipment. The facility is not climate-controlled and offers shifts from 6am-2:30pm or 2pm-10:30pm/11pm, with potential for overtime as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
